ABP News - Latest News, Live News & Breaking News

ABP, or STAR news, was first launched in February of 1998 and marked itself as the first program to air in English and Hindi. The program was primarily run by STAR India, however, once this partnership ceased, and NDTV ran out in 2003, it aired only in Hindi, and became known as ABP News

As mentioned, in 2003, the indenture with NDTV ceased, and STAR opted to stream the channel as a stand-alone. However, the government announced a standard which cut international parity in the news business to a mere 26%. When this standard was announced and made official, STAR then entered a JV with a group by the name of The AnandaBazar Patrika roup.

The pair then formed a company called Media-Content-and-Communications-Services, (MCCS) which was the new source of the STAR news. STAR still owned a 26% stake in the program, whilst JV The AnandaBazar Patrika group owned the majority 74%. This group announced in mid-April, 2012 that they would separate, meaning Rupert Murdoch and his company to stall productions in the news industry and focus on the growing entertainment business in India. With the separation, the affiliation, which lasted eight years saw the 'Star' product come to an end.

The company that maintained and controlled the news channels, Media-Content-and-Communications (MCCS), claimed that post-separation, Hindi News Channel Star News’ would be-named ABP News’, Bengali News Channel Star Ananda’ would become ABP Ananda’. The Marathi News Channel Star Majha’ would be called ABP Maiha’. Popular with Punjabi audiences is the channel called ABP Sanjha which airs in the Punjabi language. On 1 January 2016, a Gujarati-language series was created, and this was called ABP Asmita’.

In November 2016, the great Avinash-Pandey was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the ABP-News Network.

ABP News Live has fast become the premier news program in India and surrounding regions, bringing breaking and local news to the people of the area. Thank you for your time
